Ivory Flame lights up East Yorkshire

Had a photoshot with the uncredible "Ivory Flame" also know as Holly.. Holly is a professional model working nationally and internationally, the shoot lasted 3 hours.

Waxwings return.....

Waxwings have made an annual appearance, outside our home, in Cottingham, East Yorkshire, for the last 10 years. This years flock was greater than 50 birds. Waxwings are a welcome visitor from the far north and could have travelled from as far away as northern Russia. 2011 has been a boom year for these migrating birds, probably in part due to poor berry crops in Scandanavia.

Skidby Mill by night. Went to capture "star trails" and ended capturing Skidby Mill

13 mile run with "Bob the dog" et al !!!!!

Ran the Beverley Bever trail in reverse, 13 miles!! Legs feel like they have been through "the mill". Bob however still wants to play......

The Snow of 2010

New Strobe Stands

Went out for the first time with 2 SB800s and strobe stands. It was a very, very cold day, so time was limitted.

The light was dull and grey with low cloud PERFECT!

Set the D200 to manual, with a shutter speed of 1/125, iso 200, image Raw, matrix metered, single spot focus, f2.8

Set the SB800s to TTL with a zoom of 105mm then remote mode, one used as a "Key Light" & the other as a "kicker Light"

Shadow noted from the pillor the key light should have been moved, slightly

New Speedlights

Bought 2 Nikon SB800 Speedlights, which hopefully with give me more scope for capture images outside of the studio. However this image of a rose was shot in the home,

Went to the park with Bob, the snow is still very deep and will be around for a while yet...

Winter running

Ran today from Beverley, to "Grannies Attic" Market Weighton, took just under 2 hours in the snow, feel frozen to "the core"........

Bought today a new Sigma 50-500mm lens "oh toys for boys" looking forward to the weekend!! The wind is howling today with 85mph winds forecast overnight........

Enjoying the rest....

Went to Spurn Point today, with the intention of Birdwatching, and ending up taking "Photos"

Had a few weeks with little training!!!

Have felt fatiqued for a few weeks and my body is demanding rest!! So taken a few weeks to recover, the problem is the mind is 21 and the body is 50+......will start again on tuesday the 9th of November!!!

Digiscoping and "birding"

Went to Spurn Point today, equiped with my new scope (Nikon ed82mm) and digiscoping camera (Nikon p5100) the weather was sunny and cold...winter is on the way! Todays birds included:
